As a VicRoads Roadworthy Inspection station in Richmond, J & F Motors can provide roadworthy certification (RWC) for your vehicle.
We are licensed vehicle testers and are qualified to carry out roadworthy inspections on petrol and diesel passenger and light commercial vehicles.
As a responsible vehicle owner, it is imperative to ensure that your car is roadworthy at all times.
So what exactly is a VicRoads roadworthy inspection? In short, it is a thorough assessment of your vehicle to ensure that it meets all safety and environmental standards set by VicRoads. This includes checks on vital components such as the engine, brakes, suspension, and tires, among others. A successful roadworthy inspection also means that the car is ready for registration renewal.
To have your vehicle inspected, kindly bring it along with your driver's license on the scheduled day. The inspection process usually lasts about two hours, after which we will notify you of our completion. Once the inspection is complete, the vehicle will receive a RWC if it meets the necessary criteria.
If the vehicle fails the first inspection, we will provide a list of items that need to be rectified for the certificate to be issued. Additionally, we will give you a quote for the required repair costs. Incase the vehicle has rust or damage to structural sections, you might need to have it assessed by a panel repair shop. The panel repair shop will then be required to complete a Structural Repair Report form available on the VicRoads website.
The necessary repairs should be done and the vehicle should be broughtback within 7 days of the first inspection. Our highly skilled mechanics or a mechanic of your preference can take care of the repairs. Please make an appointment for a re-inspection. If the repairs meet the required standards, a roadworthy certificate will be issued.
